Our Directors

David Griffin BA FCA - Chairman

A Partner in Albert Goodman since 1981 and Managing Partner since 1988, David developed the firm’s Audit and Corporate Services departments and deals mainly with larger corporate and professional clients. In addition, David provides a full range of services to companies and larger businesses, including audit services, management accounting and advice, investigation support, professional witness services, advice on financial mergers, acquisitions and restructuring, management buyouts (MBOs), business disposals and valuations. David assumed the role of Chairman of Albert Goodman Chartered Financial Planners in October 2003.

Andrew Brown Dip PFS CFP - Managing Director

With a background in agriculture, banking and business, Andrew set up his own financial planning firm in 1991. The business grew steadily over the years, until it was merged with Albert Goodman in 2003, when Andrew joined the firm as a Partner and became Managing Director of Albert Goodman Chartered Financial Planners. Andrew has worked in financial planning for over 25 years and acts for a number of professional, business and retired clients, as well as working closely with professional colleagues, in particular probate and commercial lawyers.

Dave Robinson Ba (Hons) FCCA CFP IMC TEP Chartered Financial Planner - Director

One of the most qualified financial planners in the South West, Dave has worked in the financial services industry since leaving school. Dave spent the first 10 years of his career in an accountancy practice, subsequently working as an FSA authorised adviser and an IFA. Dave joined the firm in 2005 as Director of Financial Planning and has been a Partner of Albert Goodman since 2006. Dave specialises in advising elderly clients, clients in later life, trust beneficiaries and recipients of damages and compensation awards.

Clive Weir - APMI Chartered Financial Planner  - Director

With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Clive is now a leading specialist in the area of pensions and relationship breakdown and provides assistance to family lawyers and their clients, in considering how to split assets (including pensions) upon the breakdown of a relationship. Clive and his team also provide financial planning advice in respect of implementing the agreed settlement. Clive became a Director of Albert Goodman Chartered Financial Planners in Spring 2008, having merged his own business into the firm.

Dominic Crilly - MA CTA - Director

Having previously worked as a tax consultant for major international accountancy firms in the Midlands and the City Of London, Dominic relocated to the West Country and joined Albert Goodman in 1996, becoming Senior Tax Partner in 1999. Dominic specialises in taxation services and advice, particularly more advanced tax planning strategies and arrangements for owner managed businesses, and wealthy individuals with significant property interests, and/or development or agricultural land. Dominic also works regularly with lawyers in the area of complex tax planning and trust planning.
